About the Role:

Join VMware by Broadcom, the global leader in cloud infrastructure and virtualization, and be part of our Professional Services Organization (PSO) — the engine that drives customer success from adoption to implementation. As a Client Services Consultant, you’ll serve as a trusted technology advisor and implementation expert for our strategic enterprise clients, especially in the banking sector. You will design, implement, and optimize private cloud environments using VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and related technologies. This is a customer-facing role requiring strong communication, technical depth, and hands-on expertise in VMware’s suite of products, especially vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and Aria tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure availability and performance of private cloud infrastructure for enterprise clients (e.g., banks) based on VCF.
  • Conduct infrastructure assessments, provide recommendations, and support the Project Manager and Architect teams.
  • Administer and troubleshoot VMware environments, including vSphere ESXi, HA, DRS, templates, and cloning.
  • Manage storage allocation, VMDK/RDM troubleshooting, and backup/disaster recovery readiness.
  • Collaborate with NSX, Aria Operations, and vSAN teams to optimize deployment and integration.
  • Support VMware monitoring dashboards, reporting, alerts, and RCA for security incidents.
  • Work with internal VMware support, engineering, and consulting teams for issue resolution and escalations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation such as SOPs, patching/upgrade plans, and DR procedures.
  • Ensure alignment with industry best practices and maintain technical knowledge of VMware’s evolving product portfolio.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of total experience with at least 4+ years in customer-facing consulting roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • VCF, vSphere, NSX, vSAN
  • Aria Suite: Automation, Operations, Log Insight, Network Insight
  • Deep understanding of VMware tools, private cloud technologies, and software-defined datacenters.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting VMware environments in large-scale enterprise settings.
  • Ability to manage incident, change, and problem management in enterprise IT.
  • Strong client-facing communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
  • Willingness to work onsite (Mumbai) and support 24×7 operations as per business needs.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with banking or financial sector private cloud implementations.
  • Familiarity with storage, backup, networking, and DR strategies.
  • Exposure to scripting and automation (PowerCLI, Python, or similar).
  • Experience with tools like CALIBRE, Hercules, and enterprise-grade monitoring platforms.

Certifications & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least one VMware certification (VCP-DCV or VCAP).
  • Additional certifications in Networking, Storage, or ITIL are a strong plus.
