Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced webMethods Administrator with strong development exposure to manage, support, and optimize Software AG webMethods platforms. The role involves platform administration, patching, DR management, monitoring, performance tuning, deployment automation, and security compliance across enterprise environments.
Must Have Skills
- Strong expertise in webMethods Administration and good development exposure.
- Hands-on experience with webMethods 10.x (preferably 10.15).
- Deep knowledge of Integration Server, API Gateway, Universal Messaging, Task Engine, BPM, Process Engine.
- Experience with clustering, load balancing, and high availability setups.
- Proven experience in patching, upgrades, DR drills, and outage management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for integration and messaging issues.
Good to Have Skills
- Working knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, and containerized deployments.
- Monitoring tools: ELK, Grafana, Splunk, Introscope.
- Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
- Knowledge of networking, SSL, firewalls, and encryption.
- Automation using Shell / Python / PowerShell.
Roles & Responsibilities
Platform Administration & Operations
- Administer webMethods components: IS, API Gateway, UM, BPM, Task Engine, Process Engine.
- Configure clustering, load balancing, and high availability environments.
- Manage DEV, QA, and PROD environments with enterprise compliance.
- Execute maintenance windows, DR drills, and outage coordination.
- Monitor uptime and perform routine health checks.
Patching & Maintenance
- Plan and apply Software AG patches and fixes across environments.
- Validate patches in lower environments before production rollout.
- Maintain patch schedules and environment baselines.
- Coordinate with vendor support for issue resolution.
Incident, Problem & DR Management
- Provide 24×7 on-call support for platform incidents.
- Lead outage investigations and RCA documentation.
- Execute DR failover and failback activities.
- Ensure SLA compliance and minimal downtime.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization
- Configure proactive monitoring using ELK, Splunk, Introscope.
- Tune JVM, memory, thread pools, and connections.
- Perform capacity planning and trend analysis.
Deployment & Change Management
- Manage deployments using webMethods Deployer.
- Integrate deployments with CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in CAB meetings and ensure rollback readiness.
Security & Compliance
- Manage TLS/SSL certificates, API security, and access provisioning.
- Handle license management and audit documentation.
- Participate in enterprise security audits and DR validation.
Automation & Documentation
- Automate maintenance and DR verification using scripts.
- Maintain configuration, patch, and DR runbooks.
- Continuously improve reliability and outage processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science / Engineering or related field.
- Software AG Certified Administrator / Developer is preferred.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
