As an Applied Scientist II, you’ll be part of a dynamic, cross-functional team that develops and delivers high-impact AI features and ML models for millions of users worldwide. You’ll work at the cutting edge of AI innovation with access to the latest research, transformer-based models, and platform tools, contributing to both production systems and the scientific community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design AI-powered product experiences by collaborating closely with engineering, research, and product teams.
- Develop and optimize machine learning models, create evaluation metrics, datasets, and pipelines to measure impact.
- Work with large language models (LLMs), transformers, and state-of-the-art ML techniques for real-world deployment.
- Partner with research and platform teams to bring the latest ML advances into production scenarios.
- Contribute to technical mentorship, guide junior scientists, and help onboard new team members.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, inclusion, and innovation, and participate in the broader ML and academic community.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field AND 3+ years experienc
- Master’s degree AND 2+ years relevant experience
- Doctorate AND 1+ year experience
- Equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years hands-on experience in Machine learning / deep learning
- Natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision
- Statistics and predictive analytics
- Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in end-to-end ML development, from data preparation to deployment and iteration
- Proficiency in Python, and ML libraries such as Hugging Face
- Experience implementing and debugging transformer-based models
- Publications in ML conferences or contributions to open-source ML projects
- Demonstrated ability to build and ship high-quality ML products at scale
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to mentor others and promote inclusive team culture
