 About the Role
OptM is looking for a highly skilled Cloud/DevOps Engineer to manage and scale large production environments in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing 50+ virtual machines, multiple services, and production systems, with a focus on automation, monitoring, and resilience. This is a great opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud, DevOps, and automation technologies and partner with global teams to design and deploy scalable systems.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage large-scale production environments (50+ VMs and multiple services) on the cloud — AWS preferred.
- Deploy, support, and monitor systems in production environments (minimum 2 years of experience).
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for monitoring, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure applications are built with operability and scalability in mind.
- Improve system monitoring, alerting, and resilience through automation and DevOps practices.
- Provide 24×7 support on a rotational or escalation basis to ensure uptime and issue resolution.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux platforms.
- Expertise in cloud architecture and deployment on AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack.
- Proficiency with DevOps tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, Git, Maven, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Ability to code or script in at least one language: Go, Rust, Python, Perl, Bash, Java, or JavaScript.
- Experience in CI/CD pipeline development and release management automation.
- Understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models and system design principles.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as ELK, Logstash, Kafka, Prometheus, Grafana, and TICK stack.
- Knowledge of networking and security concepts including DNS, SSL, VPN, and VPC.
- Added advantage: experience with IoT device validation (NB-IoT, FOTA, Device Management, LWM2M, MQTT).
