The Impact You Will Have in This Role:
As a Database Administrator (DBA), you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity, performance, and security of DTCC’s enterprise database systems across Development, QA, UAT, Production, and Disaster Recovery (DR) environments. You will contribute to building a resilient, high-performing infrastructure for mission-critical financial applications. With expertise in MSSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, and Oracle, you’ll support a hybrid on-premise and cloud architecture and contribute to continuous process improvements and advanced troubleshooting in a high-stakes environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances (both on-premise and cloud-based).
- Implement and manage High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Clustering, and Log Shipping.
- Monitor and analyze database performance using system reports and logs to identify anomalies and performance issues.
- Tune SQL queries and indexes to optimize efficiency and improve system response times.
- Perform database backup, restore, and recovery operations using appropriate tools and strategies.
- Provide L3 level support for critical production systems and participate in 24×7 on-call rotations.
- Use ServiceNow for incident, change, and problem management in support of internal teams and production systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and maintain automated scripts using PowerShell and Python.
- Ensure data replication, clustering, and database security compliance across all platforms.
- Maintain database documentation, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) efforts for database-related incidents.
- Stay current with industry best practices by participating in workshops, certifications, and professional groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 4+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
Talents Needed for Success:
- Solid working experience with Oracle 19c/21c/22c, including GoldenGate Replication.
- Proficiency in MSSQL Server, Aurora PostgreSQL, and SQL query optimization.
- Strong knowledge of database backup/restore, HA/DR strategies, and monitoring tools.
- Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python preferred).
- Hands-on experience in Angular is a plus.
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to solve complex technical issues independently and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications in Microsoft SQL Server, AWS (for Aurora PostgreSQL), or Oracle DBA will be a plus.
- Experience with cloud database services and hybrid data architectures.
- Understanding of compliance standards and experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., Financial Services).
