About the Role:
Cognizant is seeking a Deskside Support Engineer to join our growing IT support team on a 12-month contractual basis. In this role, you will provide hands-on technical support for desktops, laptops, and end-user systems, ensuring a seamless IT experience for internal users. You’ll troubleshoot hardware/software issues, maintain high levels of customer satisfaction, and help optimize IT support operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues on Windows and Mac environments.
- Handle end-user requests, log detailed service tickets, and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
- Provide support for Windows 10, Office 365, and Mac OS platforms.
- Assist in troubleshooting network issues and basic Active Directory administration.
- Offer remote support, including AV/teleconferencing systems and presentation equipment.
- Escalate unresolved issues and system outages following standard protocols.
- Maintain knowledge of internal SOPs and policies to deliver consistent support.
- Ensure professional communication and provide user-friendly solutions.
- Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- 2–3 years of experience in Deskside/Desktop Support.
- Proficient in Windows 10, Office 365, Mac OS, and remote desktop tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware, network, and software issues.
- Good understanding of Active Directory, remote tools, and ticketing systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a high-pressure environment.
- Exposure to AS400 systems is a plus.
