About the Role

Volvo Group is looking for a Function Owner – TPMS and Vehicle Dynamics (VDYN) Systems to join our dynamic Vehicle Dynamics team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on next-generation transport technologies while shaping sustainable and efficient vehicle solutions for the future. You will play a key role in functional development, system integration, and software verification within the Vehicle Dynamics domain.

About the Team

The Vehicle Dynamics group consists of passionate engineers responsible for conceptualizing, designing, developing, and delivering advanced vehicle dynamics systems.

We are driven by customer success, ensuring uptime, reliability, and innovation in every product. This position reports to the Group Manager – Vehicle Dynamics, Bangalore.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in functional development, including requirement breakdown, software design, implementation, testing, and verification.
  • Define and specify system and functional requirements.
  • Analyze ECU state flow and system behavior across different vehicle modes.
  • Support benchmarking and perform gap analysis for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 and other automotive functional safety standards (ASIL levels).
  • Collaborate with suppliers for technical discussions, validation planning, and issue resolution.
  • Support hardware verification, test planning, and achieve defined test coverage.
  • Partner with software and product architecture teams to define software safety needs.
  • Conduct risk analyses (DFMEA, SFMEA, etc.) and ensure appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Contribute to process and tool improvement initiatives.
  • Drive innovation and new ideas in product and process development.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting support to production plants and aftermarket teams.
  • Build strong cross-functional and cross-location networks across Volvo Group.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: BE or M.Tech in Mechatronics or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3–6 years in the automotive domain (OEM or Tier-1).

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of EE architecture and embedded hardware design.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, mechatronics, control systems, and system modeling.
  • Experience in functional safety (ISO 26262) and ASPICE processes.
  • Hands-on experience with CANalyzer and embedded system tools.
  • Familiarity with product development cycles and SAFe Agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in developing electronic and software systems combining functional, system, hardware, and software engineering.
  • Knowledge of hazard and operability analysis, fault tree analysis, and other safety engineering methods.
  • Understanding of functional safety compliance and vehicle validation processes.
