Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Java, Angular, and AWS Cloud Services to join the Crew IT Team. The role involves full-stack development, cloud-native application design, and supporting mission-critical Crew Operations systems. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver, strong collaborator, and experienced in building scalable, maintainable solutions using modern engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications with clean, efficient, and well-documented code across the full technology stack.
- Engineer, implement, and support code for break-fix maintenance, enhancements, and DevOps CI/CD pipeline integrations.
- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices leveraging Java (Spring Boot) and AWS Lambda.
- Create and manage containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) — design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business SMEs, and other IT teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Develop visual and UML models (flowcharts, sequence diagrams, class diagrams, etc.) to document system design.
- Support operational environments with proactive monitoring, logging, and issue resolution.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, daily scrums, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure adherence to Delta’s software development standards and methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5–7 years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Expertise in Java 11 / J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and microservices architecture.
- Strong Angular front-end development experience (TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap).
- Proficient in RESTful API design, Swagger, JSON, and Postman.
- Solid SQL and PL/SQL development experience (Oracle 18c, TOAD).
- Experience with AWS Cloud Services — Lambda, RDS, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation, Step Functions, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, EC2, VPC.
- Familiar with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle).
- Experience developing and deploying in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) — cluster compute pools, nodes, namespaces, pods, and deployments.
- Experience with additional AWS services — CodePipeline, CloudFormation, Auto Scaling, Route 53, ELB.
- Familiarity with Kafka for event-driven systems.
- Proficiency with testing and automation tools — Postman, Mockito, SonarQube.
- Exposure to test-driven development (TDD) practices.
