Lead Engineer – Test
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India (Hybrid)
Job Summary
The Lead Engineer – Test will be responsible for validating next-generation Automation Controller product lines and I/O modules. This role requires deep understanding of industrial automation systems, test strategy development, test automation, PLC programming, and communication protocols. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams across all phases of the product lifecycle to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Owners to define validation and verification plans.
- Derive test requirements from system and product specifications.
- Participate in all stages of the system test lifecycle—from product definition to production release.
- Estimate development effort, break down tasks, and assign story points.
- Design and implement optimal test systems and automated test fixtures to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Use strong scripting skills (Python) for test automation of industrial control systems and I/O modules.
- Apply basic programming knowledge in C#, C++ for automation-related development.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to peers and leadership on architecture, design, and technical risks.
- Interface with architects and engineering leads to resolve complex technical issues.
- Work in agile or waterfall models depending on project needs.
- Support the product development lifecycle with technical insights and test expertise.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
- 5–8 years of experience in industrial automation and products like PLCs, DCS, and I/O modules.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols: MODBUS TCP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, IEC61850, IEC104, DNP3, HMI/SCADA.
- Scripting knowledge in Python and experience with test automation for industrial control systems.
- Basic experience with C# or C++ for automation tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on industrial automation knowledge.
- Experience with controller programming tools and HMI software.
