Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Legal Manager to oversee and manage all legal, compliance, and regulatory matters for our Anuppur Plant. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in infrastructure, power, or energy sectors, with a strong command of land acquisition laws, land revenue regulations, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Land Laws and Land Acquisition
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national land laws.
- Oversee land acquisition, lease agreements, and title verification.
- Manage and resolve disputes related to land ownership, encroachments, and compensation.
2. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure the plant complies with environmental, labor, and energy regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities for approvals, permits, and compliance audits.
- Track updates and changes in relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
3. Dispute Resolution
- Coordinate litigation and arbitration involving land issues, contracts, or operational disputes.
- Work closely with the Corporate Legal Team and external counsels for case management.
4. Legal Advisory
- Provide legal counsel to management on operational and project-related risks.
- Develop strategies to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with corporate policies.
5. Documentation and Record Management
- Maintain and safeguard all legal documents, land records, permits, and licenses.
- Ensure timely renewal of legal and regulatory approvals.
6. Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with government authorities, local bodies, and community representatives.
- Manage community relations to address socio-legal concerns effectively.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university; LLM preferred.
- Industry Background: Preferably from the Power, Infrastructure, or Energy sector.
- Experience: 8–12 years of total legal experience with at least 5 years in the relevant sector.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of land acquisition and land revenue laws.
- Proficiency in property, environmental, and regulatory compliance laws.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multi-stakeholder coordination and community engagement.
