Job Description
We are looking for a skilled MySQL DBA responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of MySQL database environments. The role includes database design, architecture, upgrades, backups, and performance tuning while collaborating closely with development and infrastructure teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage database architecture and data models
- Provision and maintain MySQL instances (clustered and non-clustered)
- Ensure high availability, security, and performance of databases
- Perform database activities such as upgrades, backups, recovery, and migrations
- Monitor server resource usage and optimize database performance
- Configure and manage MySQL replication
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and specifications
- Work closely with application and infrastructure teams to support database needs
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a MySQL DBA
- Strong expertise in database design and data architecture for large-scale systems
- Proficiency in MySQL administration and management
- Experience with recent versions of MySQL
- Good understanding of MySQL storage engines (InnoDB, MyISAM)
- Hands-on experience with MySQL replication
- Strong skills in SQL writing and query optimization
- Knowledge of MySQL best practices and standards
- Familiarity with MySQL event scheduler
- Ability to plan database resources based on high-level requirements
Good to Have
- Exposure to NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra
- Understanding of MySQL limitations and workaround strategies
