Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) – Level 3 Support

Location: Pune

Industry: Information Technology

Experience: 3–6 Years (Level 3 Support)

Salary: Up to ₹4.5 LPA

Employment Type: Full-Time / On-site / 24×7 Support Model (Rotation Basis)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with strong Level 3 support expertise to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize mission-critical Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and handling Sev1 & Sev2 incidents in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 3 database administration support including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and incident resolution.
  • Manage production support for Oracle databases (10g, 11g) in heterogeneous environments.
  • Collaborate with multiple technology teams, vendors, and customers for incident and problem resolution.
  • Participate in change review meetings, CIP creation, and implementation activities.
  • Handle major incident management (Sev1 & Sev2 tickets) and ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform database performance troubleshooting and tuning to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Manage backup and recovery operations using RMAN, NetBackup, and snapshot backups (Avamar experience is a plus).
  • Work with Oracle Data Guard, Replication, and RAC technologies for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Exposure to Oracle APEX platform is an added advantage.
  • Maintain documentation, follow operational best practices, and ensure system compliance.

Requirements

Technical Skills:

  • Oracle 10g/11g Database Administration (Production Environment)
  • Dataguard, Replication, RAC configuration and maintenance
  • RMAN, NetBackup, and backup strategy management
  • Performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Incident and change management processes

Soft Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and coordination abilities
  • Collaborative mindset and team-oriented approach

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to work in a 24×7 rotational support environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Exposure to Oracle APEX and Avamar backup
  • Experience in a multi-technology or enterprise IT setup
