Job Title: Project Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the project team by handling all accounting-related functions for assigned projects, including contract modifications, compliance, payments, reports, and other duties related to the project. The Project Accountant will also occasionally travel to project sites for status review meetings. Transportation will be provided if necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounting Functions: Manage all accounting-related functions for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Project Team Support: Assist project teams with any accounting-related queries or needs.
  • Invoices & Payments: Process vendor invoices and sub-contractor payments accurately and within the assigned timelines.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure all project compliance requirements are met and collect, track, and manage compliance documents.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports including Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Contract Status, and Job Cost.
  • Owner Billings: Input owner billings in Timberline and assist with job cost report modifications.
  • Other Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned to ensure smooth project accounting operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) or related field.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on project accounting.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of project accounting principles, vendor invoices, sub-contractor payments, and compliance requirements.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Timberline and other accounting software.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing invoices and payments.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with various teams and provide support for accounting-related queries.
  • Travel: Willingness to occasionally travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Skills:
  • Prior experience in construction or project-based accounting is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and job cost reporting.
