Position Summary

The Senior Network Engineer will provide advanced support, design input, and operational excellence across a large-scale global enterprise network covering 300+ sites and hybrid cloud environments. This role functions as a Tier 3 escalation point within the India-based NOC and is responsible for ensuring high availability, secure connectivity, and optimal performance across both on-premise and cloud infrastructures.

The engineer will work extensively with Cisco switching, Meraki, ASA, Palo Alto firewalls, Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), SD-WAN, and cloud networking integrations for AWS and Azure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Tier 3 escalation for complex issues involving routing, switching, security, VPN, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot:
  • Palo Alto Networks firewalls
  • Tune SNMP, syslog, NetFlow for enhanced observability.
  • VNet/VPC peering
  • ExpressRoute / VPN
  • Partner with Security Engineering to enforce segmentation and policy compliance.
  • Use scripting tools (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate tasks and configuration compliance.
  • Lead, review, and approve network changes during maintenance windows.
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, topologies, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
  • Create training materials and guide NOC Tier 1/2 engineers.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in incident management and escalation processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Networking, or relevant discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience in enterprise network operations or engineering.
  • Routing & switching (OSPF, BGP, VLANs, STP)
  • Cisco Catalyst & Meraki
  • SD-WAN technologies  Experience with Zscaler ZIA/ZPA and policy configuration.
  • AWS networking (VPC, TGW, NACLs, Route 53)
  • Azure networking (VNet, NSG, ExpressRoute)  LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, Splunk
  • Experience working in ITIL-based incident/change processes.
