About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SDET to help shape the future of secure application access for global enterprises. You will work on Akamai’s Enterprise Application Access (EAA) platform—a Zero Trust solution that replaces traditional VPNs by eliminating external exposure while delivering seamless user access. As part of the Zero Trust Security team, you will design modern test automation frameworks, validate distributed systems, and ensure high reliability and performance across hybrid environments, including cloud, edge, and on-premises systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive test architecture for microservices, distributed systems, and hybrid cloud/edge deployments.
  • Design and develop scalable test automation frameworks for UI, APIs, and end-to-end workflows.
  • Mentor and guide junior SDETs, establishing best practices and a strong quality engineering culture.
  • Build and maintain test infrastructure mirroring real customer environments, including integrations with:
  • SSO & MFA
  • Secure tunnels and connectors
  • Identity and access flows
  • Validate and enforce security policies, identity workflows, and secure application delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of SDET / QA automation experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
  • Advanced expertise in Python, with strong skills in designing scalable automation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking & security protocols:
  • TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SSL

Experience working with:

  • Kubernetes
  • Terraform
  • Cloud platforms
  • Observability tools
  • Performance testing frameworks
  • Postman, PyTest
  • Databases and secure access technologies
