System Management (SAP Basis Consultant)

Role Objective

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Specialist to lead the administration, optimization, and support of SAP technical landscapes across ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, and cloud platforms. The consultant will ensure system stability, performance, and compliance while collaborating with global teams and guiding junior resources.

Key Responsibilities

SAP System Administration & Monitoring

  • Administer and monitor ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, and GRC systems.
  • Perform daily system health checks, background job scheduling, and performance optimization.
  • Manage transport requests, client strategy, system copies, and environment maintenance.
  • Execute kernel upgrades, patching, system refreshes using SUM, SWPM, SPAM/SAINT.

Database & Infrastructure Management

  • Manage HANA and Oracle databases including backup, recovery, tuning, and parameter optimization.
  • Coordinate with OS, DB, cloud, and network teams for issue resolution.
  • Support High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) configurations.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement SAP security standards, including user administration and role management.
  • Integrate and manage access compliance through SAP GRC.
  • Conduct internal Basis audits and prepare mitigation/action plans.

Cloud & Integration

  • Work with Azure, AWS, GCP, and SAP Cloud Connector for hybrid/cloud integration.
  • Support PI/PO, Solution Manager, and third-party scheduling tools such as UC4.
  • Configure managed systems for ABAP & JAVA landscapes.

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and knowledge repositories.
  • Ensure adherence to AMS governance and ITIL processes.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with functional, testing, ABAP, security, and integration teams.
  • Mentor junior consultants, provide training, and support onboarding.
  • Act as the technical escalation point and lead Basis workshops.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong experience in SAP Basis administration across ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO.
  • Proficiency in HANA Studio, SLT, SDA, TMS, client administration, system monitoring.
  • Hands-on with Solution Manager 7.2, including CHARM, Monitoring, and Test Suite.

Tools & Platforms

  • SUM, SWPM, SPAM/SAINT
  • UC4, ServiceNow
  • SAP Cloud Connector
  • Azure / AWS / GCP cloud platforms

Preferred Certifications

  • SAP Certified Technology Associate – System Administration
  • ITIL Foundation or AMS Governance Certification
